Missouri State University-West Plains students will soon benefit from the largest gift in the campus' history -- a $4 million gift that will endow and expand the Corps of Opportunity program and two athletics scholarships.

Groundbreaking ceremony for Gohn Hall expansion. Once completed, Gohn Hall will house the bachelor's and master's programs offered by the Missouri State University Outreach Program.

PBL Student Recognized: In the attached photo, Barbara Nyden gives Linh Gipson her Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) sash for the May 19 commencement ceremony in recognition of Linh’s PBL accomplishments. Linh has been very active in the Phi Beta Lambda organization. She has been an officer and in 2010 she placed second in the Public Speaking event at the PBL state conference, qualifying her for nationals. She went to Nashville with Ms. Nyden for the national competition.

"Art Around Town" continues through April 30th on the Mezzaine at the West Plains Civic Center. Hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m and weekends 1 - 5 p.m. The exhibit is artwork by K-8th grades and the competion winners are displayed with ribbons. This sunflower pictured is the "Best of Show" winner, a 5th grader from Richards school who used all recycled materials.
