Enology Certificate

The Certificate in Enology is offered as part of the Viticulture and Enology Science & Technology Alliance (VESTA) and is awarded upon successful completion of the 33 credit hours of enology and chemistry courses. Topics covered include winery sanitation, winery equipment operation, winter microorganisms, cellar operations, sensory evaluation, wine and must analysis and chemistry for the winemaker. Classroom and practical field experiences provide students with the skills needed to establish and manage the scientific processes inherent in a modern winery. Courses required as part of the Certificate in Enology also satisfy requirements of the Associate of Applied Science in Enology. The Certificate in Enology prepares students for employment in a commercial winery or to own and operate their own winery.
