Viticulture Certificate

The Certificate in Viticulture is offered as part of the Viticulture and Enology Science & Technology Alliance (VESTA) and is awarded upon successful completion of the 31 credit hours of viticulture, chemistry and computer courses. Topics covered include vineyard establishment, viticulture technology, integrated pest management, soils for viticulture, botany, chemistry for winemakers and computers. Classroom and practical field experiences provide students with the skills needed to manage a vineyard through each seasonal change in order to develop an understanding of current best practices. Courses required as part of the Certificate in Viticulture also satisfy requirements of the Associate of Applied Science in Viticulture. The Certificate in Viticulture prepares students for employment in a commercial vineyard or to own and operate their own vineyard.
