The Easy Choice

Date: October 19, 2007

Hi everyone! My name is Lacey Hall and I am a freshman at Missouri State University-West Plains and a freshman to the college experience. I was born in West Plains and grew up in the surrounding area, so many would think I was destined to attend this college from the moment I was born, but this is not so. I struggled for a long time about which college I should attend. I applied to a variety of colleges and with a 31 on my ACT, I had opportunity to attend anywhere. So why did I choose Missouri State University-West Plains? It's in the motto: Stay Close, Go Far.

Missouri State University-West Plains has so much to offer each student who attends. There are trip opportunties such as the overseas trip offered in the Honors Program and even simple trips like the one on October 6th to tour the Springfield campus and watch a football game. The students at West Plains are much like a family and the campus, a home. There aren't too many buildings spread over acres of land to get lost on. It's all close together and easy to navigate, and if you do get lost, someone is always there to help you find your way.

MSU-WP also offers many ways for students to interact with each other and make new friends through clubs and organizations. I am already involved as a Student Ambassador and recently chosen as the Student Government Treasurer. Through only these two organizations, I've already made countless numbers of friends and there are still many more clubs on campus than I even realize.

So far I've been in college for almost two months and I've already been challenged by my teachers in all of my classes. So if you're looking for a top notch school with professors who care, you're looking in the right place. Make the easy choice.
