Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Missouri State University is accepting applications for an Assistant Coach for the Grizzly Men's Basketball team at the West Plains campus. The West Plains campus is a public, open admissions, two-year campus within the Missouri State University system. The campus offers Associate degrees and hosts Bachelor's and Master's degree programs from the Missouri State University system. It is independently accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Student enrollment is approximately 1,800.
The Assistant Coach is responsible for specifically designated aspects of the Grizzly Men's Basketball team, provides technical expertise in the fundamentals of the sport, teaches student-athletes the basics and assists the Head Basketball Coach in management of the team through recruiting, program development, fund-raising and promotional activities, and related assigned responsibilities; guides and mentors student-athletes throughout the academic year; and performs certain non-athletic assignments as may be required.
Bachelor's degree is required. Two years of experience in coaching at the intercollegiate level is required; however, extensive player experience at the collegiate level can be substituted for the coaching experience. Public speaking experience: excellent interpersonal skills; and management and organizational skills and a valid Missouri driver's license are required. Any coaching experience in the NJCAA Division I level program; and demonstrated knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations governing recruitment, eligibility and related functions are preferred. Pay Grade: Unclassified. Salary: $31,500/annually.
