College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Audience:

Any Missouri State student wishing to receive credit for one of the eligible courses or home schoolers or other community members wanting to test their subject knowledge.

Focus:

College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests measure a student's mastery of college-level, introductory course content in a wide range of disciplines. There are 33 tests available, although not all of them are transferrable to Missouri State. See the CLEP website for a listing of courses.

Process:

By appointment only. Register at testing services in person or by phone, (417) 255-7943.

Computerized test takes 90 minutes to complete.

Testing Location:

Testing Services in the Garnett Library at 304 W. Trish Knight St. Come in the main door and go down the ramp.

Fees:

$100 total: $20 to Missouri State-West Plains; $80 to CLEP

Other:

On the date of the test you must bring the following items:

  • Missouri Driver's License or Non-Driver ID
  • Exam registration number
  • The test should be purchased online before test day. The $20 sitting fee is paid the day of the exam (check or cash only).
