High School Equivalency Test (HiSET)
Persons prepared to take the test to achieve a high school equivalency diploma.
The High School Equivalency Test (HiSET®) Test measures the essential academic skills and concepts of a traditional high school education. A HiSET® graduate has demonstrated higher-order thinking by passing a rigorous seven and a half hour battery of tests in the core high school curriculum areas of writing, social studies, science, literature, the arts and mathematics. These tests measure adults' ability to understand and apply information; to evaluate, analyze, and draw conclusions; to solve problems; and to express ideas and opinions in writing.
The HiSET® offers the opportunity to earn high school credentials. The HiSET® program is jointly sponsored by the American Council on Education and state, provincial and territorial departments of education.
