Learn more about opportunities available at the Grizzly House, the University’s first residential facility located in the heart of campus, and Grizzly Lofts, our newest residential community located just a few blocks from campus in the renovated International Shoe Company. On January 1, 2017, the Shoe Factory Lofts, 665 Missouri Ave., in West Plains, will become Grizzly Lofts and Missouri State-West Plains will assume management of the facility, which can accommodate 274 students.

Experience Campus Life
Experience all aspects of college life by living in the Grizzly House, a 60-person residence hall located in the heart of the Missouri State University-West Plains campus. The Grizzly House provides students with a friendly and diverse atmosphere in which to live. The Garnett Library, classroom buildings and Putnam Student Center are within walking distance. Residents can take advantage of the computer lab on the first floor. The lab features workstations with Dell® computers complete with a variety of Windows® software, as well as email and Internet capabilities. It also has a printer and is open 24 hours. There’s plenty of green space around the Grizzly House, along with lighted basketball courts for some outdoor relaxation. The community room on the first floor is a great place for residents to hang out, watch TV or play video games and shoot some pool. The living room in each suite is a great place to relax with friends. Each bedroom comes with two desks, wardrobes, chests of drawers and extra-long twin beds.
From Welcome Week, back-to-school picnics and dances, to homecoming activities and Grizzly Athletics games, there are plenty of opportunities for you to experience the exhilarating lifestyle of a college student.
Student Recreation Center
Students can play a pick-up game of basketball, volleyball or racquetball in this 10,000-square-foot multipurpose student recreation center. The $2.2 million facility is located right by the Grizzly House and also serves as an emergency storm shelter for the campus. In addition, it can be used to host a variety of student-related activities and events.
Students receive free admission to all Grizzly games, University theater and events and the West Plains Civic Center pool and fitness center.
For the 2016-2017 academic year (fall 2016 and spring 2017), the cost per semester is $2,851*, which includes utilities and 20 meals per week at the Putnam Student Center.
Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are encouraged to apply early. On-campus housing cannot be guaranteed due to increasing demand.

The cost fluctuates between academic years but always includes a 20-meal plan at Putnam Student Center and all the great accommodations. The cost for the 2016-2017 year is $2,851 per semester.
Centrally located in both West Plains and on campus, the Grizzly House makes going to class and traveling in West Plains simple.
