STAR OrientationThe Student Advisement and Academic Support Center (SAAS) provides the following opportunities for students to maximize their academic potential at Missouri State – West Plains.

Academic Advising

SAAS offers help in choosing a major, planning a program of study, transferring courses, college orientation, and much more.

TRIO Student Support Services

    This federally-funded program is designed to help participants complete their 2-year degrees by providing a variety of services including additional tutoring and advising.  Participants must be full-time students and must satisfy the eligibility requirements of the program.

Tutoring, Study Groups and Study Skills

SAAS provides tutoring in math and assistance in writing. Study groups are organized for a variety of other courses, as needed. Advisors help students evaluate the roadblocks to their success, improve their study skills, and reduce test anxiety.

SAAS also administers the CIS 101 (Computers for Learning) Waiver exam and make-up tests for Missouri State – West Plains Faculty.
