Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?
I chose to attend Missouri State-West Plains because it was a small college, very close to home. I was awarded the A+ Scholarship in high school; so therefore, the A+ Scholarship would cover the cost of my tuition for an associate’s degree. Also, I knew that since Missouri State-West Plains was such a small campus the class sizes were also small. As a student in a small classroom your instructors get to know you personally. They develop a relationship with you and they want you to succeed. That's why I chose Missouri State-West Plains.
What degree are you pursuing at Missouri State-West Plains and when do you plan to graduate?
I received my Associate of Arts in General Studies degree from Missouri State-West Plains in the spring of 2012. Currently, I am still enrolled in business courses at the West Plains campus.
Are you involved in student organizations or groups?
I am very involved on campus. Student involvement is something that is very important to me because during my first year at Missouri State-West Plains I was not involved in anything on campus. However, I was introduced to Student Government Association President Tony Ary at the beginning of my second year. Tony began to tell me about Welcome Week, which is a three-day event for freshmen to come and get acquainted with the campus and other students at the college. Tony had asked me if I would like to help with the event and of course I said yes. It was during those three fun-filled days that I fell in love with Missouri State-West Plains. I promised myself from that moment on I would do everything that I could to get involved on campus. Since that event, I have been the Grizzlies’ Mascot, Student Government Association Representative, Future Alumni Organization Representative, Events Committee Member, Tri-Lambda Member and I was elected Student Government Association President for the 2013-2014 academic year.
