Theater and Events

The theater and events department provides educational and cultural programming for the University and community. Programming may include visual and performing arts, concerts, workshops, films and lectures.

Most Theater and Events shows are free to current Missouri State University-West Plains students who have a valid BearPass ID and have paid the activity fee.

  • VITALY: An Evening of Wonders

    Thursday, September 29 at the West Plains Civic Center Theater @ 7:00 PM. Brace yourself for a whole new take on magic and step into Vitaly’s world. Prepare to be astonished by one of the world’s up and coming illusionists.

  • Presidential Debate Watch Party

    On Sunday, October 9, at 8 PM in the West Plains Civic Center Theater. See the presidential election process with your community members by attending this free, live viewing of a presidential debate on the big screen.

  • One Life: The Mask of Lincoln

    Straight from the iconic Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. comes this mesmerizing portfolio, One Life: The Mask of Lincoln. Available November 2-27, on the West Plains Civic Center Mezzanine.

  • Danny Russell as Abraham Lincoln

    Travel from a log cabin to the White House in this compelling hour-long performance by actor Danny Russell. Performance is Thursday, November 3, in the West Plains Civic Center Theater @ 7:00 PM.

  • Musical Salute to Veterans

    The Annual "Musical Salute to Veterans" program is set for 1:00 PM, Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the West Plains Civic Center Theater. The West Plains High School Band will perform a variety of patriotic music.

  • Hawaiian Polynesian Revue

    On Sunday, December 4 @ 2:00 PM. Step in from the cold to experience the warmth of a vibrant, South Pacific celebration! General admission is $5, kids 13& under and students with their BearPass are free!
