Theater and Events

The theater and events department provides educational and cultural programming for the University and community. Programming may include visual and performing arts, concerts, workshops, films and lectures.

Most Theater and Events shows are free to current Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) students who have a valid BearPass ID and have paid the activity fee.

  • Magician Brian Miller

    Brian Miller, a nationally touring variety artist and "Best Small Venue Performer" as recognized by Campus Activities Magazine, performs a one-man, vaudeville-inspired variety show that combines magic, comedy, mind reading, puzzles, games and live music.

  • "The Lady with all the Answers"

    Advice columnist Ann Landers answered countless letters from others on matters small and momentous. This one-woman show provides a compelling portrait of this folksy, funny, frank and slightly eccentric writer and personality. Mature audiences only.

  • Pianist Rosario Andino

    Cuban-born child prodigy, Andino's orchestra performances, recitals, radio and television concerts have been acclaimed in the US, Cuba, Mexico, Spain, England, Italy and Holland. Don't miss this opportunity to spend an evening with a master musician.*

  • 16th Annual Musical Salute to Veterans

    The annual "Musical Salute to Veterans" program is set for 1 PM, Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the West Plains Civic Center Theater. The West Plains High School Band will play a variety of patriotic music in honor of those who have and are serving in the military.

  • The Polar Express

    Grab your golden tickets and join us as we board "The Polar Express" for a special holiday film presentation. This magical journey follows a doubting boy and several other lucky children who board a train headed to the North Pole and Santa's Home.

  • Bah! Humbug!

    Scrooge throws his remote at ghosts while Bob Cratchit works inside the ATM in this update of a class. Travel with spirits on a journey as Scrooge learns the joys of kindness and giving. This musical romp will put a smile on the "Scroogiest" of faces.
