Theater and Events

The theater and events department provides educational and cultural programming for the University and community. Programming may include visual and performing arts, concerts, workshops, films and lectures.

Most Theater and Events shows are free to current Missouri State University-West Plains students who have a valid BearPass ID and have paid the activity fee.

    This film tells the true story of the young, British intelligence officer in the Middle East during World War One.

  • Wadjda

    This award-winning foreign film is the story of a spunky Saudi girl who wants to defy cultural norms by riding a bike.

  • The Kite Runner

    In Afghanistan, a Pashtun boy and a Hazan boy an unlikely friendship that sees them through the trails of trauma, war, and atonement.

  • Understanding Syria: A War Doctor`s Memoir

    Dr. Tarif Bakdash, a Syrian-American physician who works in Syrian refugee camps, will read from his new book, "Inside Syria- A Physician`s Memoir."

  • Caladh Nua

    Caladh Nua is a band plucked straight from the Emerald Isle, with music leaning heavily on many traditional instruments

  • Public Affairs Conference

    The conference will feature a keynote address by health and fitness celebrity Jillian Michaels April 5 at 7:30 PM, which will also be live streamed to MSU-West Plains campus.
