Associate of Arts in Teaching (Elementary Education)
The AAT degree program contains two options for areas of concentration. The academic
program contains the core teacher education courses needed and is consistent with other Missouri colleges. Substitute teacher
training is incorporated into the program. The AAT provides a smooth transition into
the MSU - Outreach program on West Plains campus making it possible for students to complete their bachelor's degree in elementary
education on the West Plains Campus. The Teacher Education program through MSU - Outreach
in West Plains utilizes night classes.
Student MSTA
is the pre-professional organization for education majors on Missouri college and university campuses. Members have opportunities for:
- Personal and professional growth
- Development of leadership skills
- Participation in professional development at local and state levels
The Missouri State University – West Plains Chapter of Student MSTA provides liability insurance free of charge, which is required for students who are completing practicum hours in the public-school setting
