Agriculture Club

Purpose:

The purpose of the Missouri State University-West Plains Agriculture Club is to provide opportunities for student members to develop the skills needed to enter and advance in careers in agriculture, agri-business, horticulture and natural resources. The Ag Club is affiliated with the National Post secondary Agriculture Student Organization and the Missouri Post secondary Agriculture Student Organization.

Meeting Times:

The Ag Club meets once per month during the fall and spring semesters. Contact Cathy Proffitt-Boys for meeting day and time.

Anime Viewers Anonymous (AVA)

Purpose:

Whether you consider yourself an anime/manga fan, Japanophile, geek or whatever else; you are welcome in AVA.

Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)

Purpose:

The Missouri State University-West Plains Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is an organization dedicated to computer graphics, game design and programming.

ACM is an international scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing the arts, sciences and applications of information technology.

Christian Campus House (CCH)

Purpose:

Our Mission:

Growing to make a difference on campus.

Christian Campus House of West Plains (CCH) is a student organization and an off campus organization. We are located just down the road from Lybyer on corner West Main Street and Monk Street, behind rock house with sign in front yard. CCH is open 9 AM-9 PM to relax & study.

Christian Campus House is a recognized student organization established to encourage and engage with those students on the Missouri State University-West Plains campus. We are a campus ministry designed for students to continue their faith on a college campus. We have weekly group meetings held on/off campus, small groups and various trips in and out of the country. Any Missouri State University-West Plains student is able to join the group. We are inter-denominational ministry with students from Baptist churches, Methodist, Christian churches, non-denominational churches and etc. CCH is recognized with the ACM (Association of Campus Ministries) www.aofcm.org. Future Alumni Organization (FAO)

Purpose:

The Future Alumni Organization (FAO) at Missouri State University-West Plains is an organization for students, run by students. Our mission is to connect students with the University, alumni and the community. Together we foster spirit, tradition and pride throughout the University. Our goal is to provide activities and programs to Missouri State University-West Plains students that can assist in their development as leaders, scholars and future alumni who are proud to be Grizzlies.

Requirements:

Must be a full-time or part-time Missouri State University-West Plains student with a 2.5 GPA.

FAO is seeking a president and vice-president for 2016-2017. Both positions come with scholarships thanks to donations from Philanthropic Women for Education, $300 for the president and $200 for the vice-president.

Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda, Inc.

Purpose:

Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. (FBLA-PBL) is the largest career student organization in the world. Each year, FBLA-PBL helps over 230,000 members prepare for careers in business. Phi Beta Lambda is the college level of FBLA-PBL. If you are interested in leadership development, academic competitions, community service and fun FBLA-PBL is the student organization for you!

Hope Offers People Everything

Purpose:

Our purpose, goals and objectives are to form a supportive group for students who struggle with and/or would like to create awareness on campus and in the community about depression, suicide, anxiety, addiction and self-injury.

Purpose:

  • To provide academic and social support for adult students at Missouri State-West Plains

Phi Theta Kappa

Purpose:

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is an international honor society for two-year colleges. Students are invited to join when they have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.

Who should become a member? Members are invited by the organization based on their GPA.

Pre-Health Professions Club

Purpose:

Pre-Health Professions Club's mission is to provide Missouri State University-West Plains’ students the opportunity to explore different jobs within the healthcare field; provide a supportive academic and personal network between members of PHPC; and create relationships with healthcare professionals and organizations within the community.

Respiratory Care Student Association

Purpose:

The Respiratory Care Student Association (RCSA) is an organization for students interested in the profession of respiratory care. The RCSA wants to bring knowledge about the respiratory care program, work around campus promoting lung health and work within the community.

Spectrum

Purpose:

To provide a community for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender students and their allies; help them to organize, advance and advocate the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and allied community and facilitate awareness in students and the community at large.

Straight Shooters

Purpose:

To allow students who enjoy playing pool to come together as peers and to give students who don't know pool the opportunity to play and learn how to play the game.

Student Ambassadors

Purpose:

Ambassadors perform roles associated with hosting campus events and guests. These include giving campus tours, assisting with career days, high school visits, Red Carpet Days and representing Missouri State-West Plains at community events. Book scholarship is provided.

To become a member of Student Ambassadors, you must be a registered full-time or part-time student with an ACT score of at least 20 and maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average. You must also demonstrate a positive attitude and have excellent communication skills.

Purpose:

Student Nurses' Association (SNA) is a student organization for pre-nursing, nursing students and other allied health majors.  SNA provides opportunities for developing leadership skills, professional relationships, educational opportunities and updated information on health trends and issues.

Student Speech and Theatre Association of Missouri (SSTAM)

Purpose:

Section 1. This organization shall be named the Student Speech and Theatre Association of Missouri. The individual campus chapter shall be identified as the Missouri State University-West Plains chapter.

Section 2. This association shall promote communication and cooperation among members of the speech and theatre students on campus and throughout the association in Missouri, work to increase professional development, to improve teaching, research and scholarship in the communicative arts and sciences.

Section 3. This organization shall follow all guidelines of its affiliate professional organization, the Speech and Theatre Association of Missouri.
