Hass-Darr Hall

Hass-Darr Hall early morning

Hass-Darr Hall is named for the William R. Hass family including former Board of Governor member, Mary Hass-Schrag as well as the William and Virginia Darr family. This building, which opened in the fall of 2018 houses many resources for prospective and current students.

  • The Admissions Welcome Center is located in this building. Prospective students can get questions answered about the campus and its offerings, apply for admission, check admission status, and more.
  • Tutoring Services allows students to drop-in for assistance in the math lab as well as the Arch W. Shaw Writing Center. Study groups are also available for students needing assistance with a variety of classes including biology, chemistry, history, and political science.
  • Veterans Services also known as the Veterans Incentive Program or VIP, is approved for enrollment certification of students eligible to receive educational assistance (GI Bill®) from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA). Additionally, a quiet room and study space are available to Veterans, their dependents, and/or spouses.
  • Darr Honors Program The William and Virginia Darr Honors Program is located here. It includes classrooms, as well as the Honors faculty office(s). This program is designed to nurture and empower students of high academic and/or artistic potential.
  • Lactation Room In case a student or employee is in need, we have a designated lactation room.
  • Student Life and Development/Student Government Association Office The Student Life and Development Office has information for how to get involved in organizations and campus life. Involved students are more likely to succeed and stay in college.
  • The Carol Silvey Student Union, named for Board of Governor member Carol Silvey, provides a space for students to gather for studying, snacking, or relaxing. Student events and activities are often held here, including movie nights, game nights, and more.
  • Coffee Shop - A privately owned and managed coffee shop is open for business to students and community members.
  • The Drago College Store, named for the support of Vivian H. Drago, gives students the opportunity to purchase textbooks, reference materials, Grizzly apparel, gifts, snacks, and beverages. Students can reserve textbooks during orientation.

Hass-Darr Hall was renovated from the former U.S. Post Office in West Plains.
