Snapshot of the Student Conduct Process

  1. Incident Report Filed
    1. Vice Chancellor of student services opens case for investigation and review.
  2. Student Receives Charge Letter
    1. Letter outlines the policy violation and sets the date/time/and location of conduct meeting.
    2. Letter is sent in an email to the student's university email address
  3. Conduct Meeting
    1. Student responds to the policy violation
    2. Student may bring a support person if they wish
    3. If student does not attend, meeting is held in their absence
  4. Outcomes (three options)
    1. Student found not responsible - Case closed
    2. Student found responsible and accepts resolution - May appeal
    3. Student found responsible and does not accept resolution - Requests hearing
  5. Student Requests a Hearing
    1. Hearing scheduled with Hearing Panel
    2. Hearing Panel determines responsibility and resolution
    3. Student has five (5) business days to appeal
