    MANY FACULTY AND STAFF members at Missouri State University-West Plains gathered at Kellett Hall Aug. 12 to wish long-time Professor of History Dr. Ed McKinney, left, well on his retirement. McKinney joined the campus’ faculty on Aug. 15, 1994, as an assistant professor and was granted tenure in August 1998. He was promoted to associate professor in August 1999 and to professor in August 2003. He received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2002 and was featured by Missouri State University-Springfield in its April 2014 Public Affairs Spotlight for his many years of serving the community through performances of his Sunnyside Up Band. Schloss will officially retire from the university Oct. 1 after nearly 21 years of service. She began working for Missouri State-West Plains as the bookstore manager on Oct. 27, 1993.
