Preparing for Registration

Enter My Grizzly Den

  1. Go to the Missouri State University-West Plains website.

  2. Click on the Log in link.

  3. Click the My Grizzly Den link.

  4. Use your BearPass Login and password to sign into the system.

  5. Find the Student Resources card.

    1. If the card is not showing do the following:

      1. Click on the stacked three lines icon in the upper-left part of the screen.

      2. Click on Discover.

      3. In the upper-left click in the Find cards area and type the word "Resources" and press enter. This will limit the cards showing to those with the word "Resource" in them.

      4. Scroll down until you find the Student Resources card.

      5. Click the bookmark icon on this card (in the upper-right of the card) to add it to your list of cards available on the home screen.

      6. Scroll back up to the top of the page and click the Missouri State-West Plains logo.
      7. The card will appear in the first slot on your home screen.
  6. Click on the My Advisor link on the Student Resources card to see your advisor information.

    • (If you are asked to log in, use your BearPass login and password.)
  7. Schedule an appointment with your advisor. They can help you sign up for the right classes and understand the process of getting registered.

Check your registration status

  1. Find the Registration card and click on Registration Status.

    1. If you have holds which prevent registration, click on the View Holds link to show you who to contact to settle any holds on your record.

    2. If your student status prevents registration, contact the office of admissions 417-255-7955.

    3. If you are a continuing student, during early registration, identify your start time by noting your total earned credit hours and then clicking on the early registration schedule link near the top of the screen.

    4. For information on your Academic Standing, contact the office of academic affairs 417-255-7272.

Review your degree requirements

  1. Find the Degree Information card.

  2. Click DegreeWorks Degree Audit.

    1. Enter your BearPass# to get started.

Register for classes

  1. Find the Registration card and click on Add, Drop or Search for a class.

    1. You will be prompted to accept the Enrollment Agreement, if you have not yet verified that you agree for the selected term.

    2. If you are a continuing student and have not yet completed your Faculty Evaluations for the prior term, please do so before continuing with registration. We appreciate your feedback.

Register for or Drop Classes

  1. You will be prompted for the Alt PIN your advisor provided to you.

  2. In the boxes provided, type the Course Reference Numbers (CRNs) for the courses for which you wish to register. The CRN is the 5-digit number next to the course title shown in the course schedule.

  3. Review the schedule you have created.

  4. If you wish to change the schedule you are creating, drop a course by clicking on the drop-down menu to the left of the course and selecting Web Drop. Add a course by typing the CRN for the course in the box provided and then clicking on Submit Changes.

  5. If you receive a registration error such as two courses that meet at the same time, a closed section, or a prerequisite error, a message will appear at the bottom of the page. You may need to choose a different section or a different course by typing the CRN into the box and clicking Submit Changes.

If you choose 'Look-Up Classes to Add' from the Registration menu

Look-up Classes to Add

  1. Click on the drop-down menu next to Subject and select a subject. You may add additional information in course number, title, part of term, etc. to help narrow the search.

  2. Click on Class Search.

  3. Read through the selections and click on the box to the left of the course(s) in which you wish to enroll.

    1. C identifies a closed class, NR indicates not allowed for registration, SR denotes student restriction - check with the office of admissions if you require more information.

  4. Click Register or Add to Worksheet.

  5. Add to Worksheet allows you build a schedule before you register and helps you avoid having to drop classes because of a time conflict.

  6. Click Class Search and repeat the above steps until you have selected all the classes you wish.

  7. Click Submit Changes to finalize your schedule.

  8. Review your schedule.

  9. If you have a registration error such as two courses that meet at the same time, a closed section, or an unmet prerequisite, a message will appear at the bottom of the page. You may need to choose a different section or a different course by repeating the steps above and then clicking on Submit Changes.

You may print your schedule and review your fees

  1. Find the Schedules card and click on My Concise Schedule and print a copy.

    1. Some schedules may require more than two pages to print.

  2. On the Registration card click on Fee Assessment. This screen will tell you how much the attending the university will cost. If you have financial aid awards they will reduce this amount.

To register for another semester

  1. Click the Student tab.

  2. Click on Registration.

  3. Click Select Term. Choose it from the drop down list and click submit.

  4. Begin looking up classes

If you are finished

  1. Click the stacked three lines icon in the upper-left and choose Sign out to log out of MyGrizzlyDen.

  2. Close any browser windows.

To protect your privacy, always sign out and close the browser window when you are finished working in MyGrizzlyDen.
