Teaching and Course Modalities

Modality refers to the delivery method of a class, detailing how students will interact with course materials and instructors. Modality is determined by the academic unit offering the course and will be reflected in the class schedule and registration system.

Faculty are invited to explore the range of modality options in direct collaboration with academic unit leaders. Academic unit leaders should consult with the Office of the Registrar for class scheduling support. Advisors should contact academic unit leaders for information regarding a particular class's modality, when the general information below will not suffice.

Students may use the guide below or discuss questions with their advisors.
