Associate of Science in Nursing Mission

The Missouri State-West Plains Associate of Science in Nursing program empowers nursing students to achieve personal success and enhance the healthcare of the local and global communities. As an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program in this area, we provide affordable and quality nursing educational opportunities.

Purpose

The purpose of the Nursing Advisory Board shall be to provide recommendations to the University with regard to maintaining, building and strengthening the Associate of Science in Nursing degree program. In particular, areas such as curriculum, equipment, institutional technology, market demand and resources will be addressed. The ever-changing requirements of the academic disciplines, community and society will play a strong role in determining these recommendations.

Faculty Coordinator

The Faculty Coordinator is responsible for scheduling meetings, establishing the agenda and maintaining meeting minutes.

Frequency

The Nursing Advisory Board will meet annually in the fall semester unless special circumstances require additional meetings.

Terms

The term of service will consist of one two-year term. Members may be reappointed for a second two-year term. Future appointments may be made following a one-year break in service on the board.

Membership

The Nursing Advisory Board consists of a cross-section of members from the medical and academic communities in an effort to reflect the needs of the area. Board members will be encouraged to share current and anticipated needs and trends in order to provide meaningful input for the purpose of developing the strongest possible program from both academic and clinical perspectives.
