Travel Restrictions

March 13 update

The university is suspending all university-related and sponsored travel that exceeds 150 miles.

This applies to university travel for all faculty, staff and students located in southwest Missouri. Exceptions may be approved by the chancellor.

This travel suspension is effective immediately and will continue through April 15. The time frame will be revisited as warranted.

Employees should discuss all current or future travel plans with their supervisor or department head. If you are an advisor of a student organization, please review any university-related travel plans they might have.

March 10 update

Individuals who are arriving on campus or returning from any country designated by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as Level 2 or higher due to COVID-19 contagion risk, must:

-Immediately contact Magers Health and Wellness Center (Magers) at 417-837-3777.

-Comply with any and all precautionary protocols established by the university (including Magers) and/or the Springfield-Greene County Health Department prior to and upon returning to campus, which may include a 14-day quarantine.

-Immediately contact Magers to report the presentation of any COVID-19 symptoms.

-Failure to comply with this campus-arrival directive increases the risk to campus and the surrounding community. As a result, any willful disregard or violation of this directive may be subject to university sanction.

Countries with travel restrictions as of March 10, 2020, include China, Iran, Italy, Japan and South Korea.
