Message from the Chancellor
Pathways to Opportunity started with a strong strategic vision: Missouri State University–West
Plains will shape the future of our region by prioritizing learning, expanding pathways
to workforce advancement, uplifting our communities, and igniting opportunity through
education and innovation. This vision was based on what we heard at the beginning
of the planning process from students, faculty, and staff, as well as stakeholders
and partners throughout South Central Missouri. It has galvanized our campus community
and will provide the framework through which we engage the region.
The plan is built around five clear imperatives:
- Expand awareness of Missouri State University-West Plains
- Grow and maintain enrollment
- Align institutional offerings with the needs of the communities we serve
- Strengthen fiscal and organizational resources
- Enhance partnerships with Missouri State University in Springfield
The goals and outcomes articulated in this plan came from our students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders – not from the top down. They are ambitious, courageous, and – most importantly – they will provide pathways to opportunities.
Now that we have a plan, it’s time to go get ’em, Grizzlies!
