Prerequisites and Certification Requirements
There are no prerequisites to enroll in this course. However, you should have basic knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems—for example, how to power up and log on to a machine, how to use a mouse and keyboard, and basic Microsoft Windows navigation skills.
For A+ exam applicants, CompTIA suggests obtaining up to 12 months of hands-on experience in the lab or field before attempting the certification exam.
To undertake the Network+ certification exam, CompTIA recommends possessing the A+ Certification and getting a minimum of 9 to 12 months of hands-on experience in a junior network administrator/network support technician role.
For those aiming to take the Security+ certification exam, CompTIA recommends a background of at least 9 to 12 months in networking and two years of experience in IT administration with a focus on security.
