About Workforce Development
Workforce development is an economic and human resource development approach to postsecondary education that results in employees being trained with valuable labor market skills that lead to economic sustainability for residents, businesses, and industry in the region.

The Office of Workforce Development on the campus of Missouri State University – West Plains offers a workforce approach and curriculum which is driven by the needs of local industry. The approach is flexible to meet the needs of adult students and regional companies and students experience work, project-based, and classroom learning. It is an ideal situation both for employers who can hire trained graduates to meet specific workforce needs and our students, whose employment is in high demand.
