Why did you choose to attend Missouri State-West Plains?
I chose Missouri State University-West Plains because it was affordable, close to home, and many of my friends attended the college and said it was a good experience.
How would you describe your experience here?
I have enjoyed my experience tremendously. The faculty and staff on campus are wonderful to work with, and everyone is genuinely working for students to have an enjoyable college experience, as well as help with their success.
What has been your favorite thing about Missouri State-West Plains?
I have enjoyed all the opportunities to make friends, learn more and work/volunteer for campus. There are so many inviting and inclusive organizations on campus that I think add a lot of color to campus.
What has been your favorite course?
My favorite course will probably be the online Public Speaking class with Paula Blackburn. It was a very fun class to be a part of! I was able to research and present topics that actually intrigued me, and her feedback was always super helpful.
How have faculty and staff helped you during your time at Missouri State-West Plains?
I probably would not be where I’m at now if not for the faculty and staff. Everyone on this campus has been so helpful. It’s really special to have a campus full of people who want to help students learn and get their degrees.
How did you choose your major?
I was told the Associate of Arts in General Studies degree would be a great degree to start with. Before going into college, I had no idea what I wanted to do after I graduated. I was told this degree is a good degree to get while I decide. I recommend the degree to anyone who is in the same boat!
What have you learned from working in residence life that will help you succeed in your education, career or life?
The position has taught me so many things about being a leader, helping students and working hard. I try to help students with whatever they need, whenever they need it. I try to work hard so the students can live on campus and not have to worry about anything going on behind the scenes. It is a great department and I’m thankful for it!
What are your plans after graduation?
I hope to work on campus. I’ve had so many great experiences helping people on campus that I’d like to continue doing so.
