Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Accreditation Visit

Missouri State University-West Plains will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit March 31 through April 2, 2014, by a team representing the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (NCA), a regional higher education accreditation agency.

Missouri State-West Plains has been accredited by the commission since 1994 at the associate's degree level. Prior to separate accreditation in 1994, Missouri State-West Plains was accredited by HLC as a part of Missouri State University.

For the past two years, Missouri State-West Plains has been engaged in a process of self-study, addressing the commission's requirements and criteria for accreditation. The evaluation team will visit the institution to gather evidence that the self-study is thorough and accurate. The team will recommend to the commission a continuing status for the college; following a review process, the commission itself will take final action.
