Athletic associations spell out specific requirements. Rigid guidelines are in place. Coaches and advisors can assist you. Some receiving institutions will have athletic advisors. Be sure that you are aware of requirements. For example, a student completing an AA degree in two years must have completed 25 percent of the degree requirements of the receiving institution. A student who completes the AA degree in three years, must have completed 50 percent of the degree requirements of the receiving institution.
Obviously, making a career choice and declaring a major are extremely important when a student athlete is transferring and wants to maintain athletic eligibility.
