Career Services Eligibility
WPO 5.03 Career Services Eligibility
Career Services are available throughout the student’s interaction with the campus. Career development is a lifelong experience that begins with exploration of occupational options and self-understanding of interests and strengths. Opportunities such as career shadowing can be arranged to allow you the opportunity to observe and interview professionals about their workplace.
In addition to learning about occupations, career exploration can assist you in determining the major and/or career you select as most suitable to you interests, skills, work values, and personality. Career Services will teach you to set and meet goals, and understand the process involved in preparing for your career.
Internships are also available to assist you to develop relevant skills and gain experience. This will also allow you to create a valuable network of contacts, develop a good work reputation, and in some cases earn academic credit and income.
Additional preparations for students include learning to write resumes and letters, how to conduct an effective and efficient job search, how to create a portfolio, how to research employers, and how to interview successfully.
All students and alumni are encouraged to connect with Career Services to assist you with your career development needs.
