  • Ed Birdyshaw - The Student Technology Usage Fee (STUF) Committee needs two faculty members. Upcoming agenda items include purchasing IT equipment for student use and a review of STUF proposals.

Announcements:

  • Rusty Monhollon (Assistant Commissioner for Academic Affairs, Missouri Department of Higher Education) has solicited input from the higher education community concerning academic performance standards in the following content areas: English Language arts, science, social studies and mathematics.   • Faculty/Staff headshots will be taken from 10 AM to 2 PM on Tuesday March 15 in Lybyer 104-105. To schedule an appointment. 
  • Missouri State-West Plains will participate in the 41st annual Severe Weather Exercise for the State of Missouri on Tuesday, March 15 at 1:30 PM. In case of severe weather, this will be postponed to March 24, at 1:30 PM.
  • The Student Nurses' Association will be having a Colton's Day on Monday, March 21.
  • Email migration to Microsoft Office 365 will cause a brief loss of email access between March 7 and March 8. This will occur after business hours and should take about 30 minutes, during which time we can receive, but not send, emails. We will receive a message when the process is complete. This will also require you to reset all devices such as phones and tablets.
  • Missouri State-West Plains will no longer use a placement exam to determine student eligibility for entry-level English courses. See Anthony Priest if you have questions. Directed Self-Placement for Writing Courses.docx
  • Midterm grading is now open and must be completed by noon on Monday, March 7.
  • Fall book adoptions are due March 4 (today).
  • The application deadline for the China Study Abroad Program for Fall 2016 has been extended until April 1, 2016.
  • Nominations of students for the University's Student Awards Program are due March 11, 2016.
  • The 4th Annual Nursing Research Night will be held May 5th at 5:00 PM in Looney Hall. Presentations will be spread throughout the building. The nursing students will be presenting their research findings and all faculty are encouraged to attend this event to support our students.
