The Golden Girls Go to College finds Dorothy (Kay Garrett) invited to become an adjunct instructor in the college of education at SMSU-WP campus. Her mother, Sophia (Rita Fugate), has decided to go back to college and earn a two year nursing degree. Given her age, she has decided to specialize in gerontology nursing. Blanche, (Nancy McClure) can't let an opportunity pass to meet nice young men and decides she too might take classes in the hope that some of those nice young men might offer to carry her textbooks. Rose (Carol Silvey) thinks all of this talk of going back to school is wonderful and it reminds her of St. Olaf. The girls do go back to school as the spokespersons for Life Time Learning.
