Readmission Policy
WPO 5.01-5 Readmission Policy (Op5.01-8)
All former students of Missouri State University-West Plains who have not been enrolled for two full semesters or more (not including the summer session) must reapply for admission. Returning students are encouraged to initiate the readmission process well in advance of the semester for which they plan to return in order to allow time for processing, advising and registration. Registration priority is given to early applicants.
Returning students who have been enrolled in other colleges or universities since leaving Missouri State University-West Plains must have final, official transcripts sent from those institutions. Documentation and procedures will vary depending on previous enrollment.
If seeking financial aid, complete the FAFSA and scholarship application and submit any required supporting documents as early as possible to allow time for processing prior to the first day of the semester. The priority deadline for the scholarship application is March 1st annually.
Students must register for classes prior to the first day of the semester. Students seeking to register after the start of a semester may appeal to the dean of academic affairs. Appeals will only be approved in situations where extenuating circumstances warrant.
Students who were required to suspend their studies at Missouri State University-West Plains due to military service will be readmitted to the University with the same academic status following the provision of an attestation of military service to the University’s Office of Admissions. To the extent practical, and consistent with the student’s military orders, students needing to suspend their studies at Missouri State University-West Plains should notify the Office of Registration and Records.
