Thank you for allowing us to partner with you. We strive to provide you with up-to-date career information to better support students throughout their career journey.

We provide the following opportunities and services to support your courses: 

Class Presentations

Presentations offered:

  • Career Services Overview (30 minutes)
  • Handshake Overview Career Management Platform (30 minutes. Typically completed in IDS 110 Courses)
  • Interviewing Tips (30-60 minutes)
  • Resume and Cover Letter Overview (30-60 minutes)
  • Developing Employability Skills (60 minutes)

Please note that students can attend one of the career development workshop throughout the academic year to freshen up on their workplace skills. These opportunities will be advertised on Handshake, Take Note, Student Bulletin, and university digital signs.

Course Assignments

You may assign your students to meet with a member of Career Services for various services offered. If you would like to request a class assignment partnership with the Office of Career Services, please complete the request form below or email WPCareer@MissouriState.edu for materials and a projected timeline.

  • Resume and/or cover letter review
  • Mandatory student participation in the Sample West Plains and Job Fair (hosted during Welcome Week) and the spring College Fair to network with employers
  • Mandatory attendance at workshops 
  • Mandatory attendance at College Transfer Day (hosted in the fall) to visit with transfer admission representatives are various institutions.

    Assistance using Handshake, our career services platform and job board for off-campus opportunities.

  • Off-Campus Job Search Assistance
    Help finding part-time or full-time jobs and internships during college and after graduation.

  • Transfer Support
    Advising for students considering transferring to another college to meet academic or career goals.

  • Encourage Students to Attend Workshops and Events                                                                          Includes job preparation, career development, job fair (hosted during Welcome Week), college transfer day (hosted in the fall), and the career fair (hosted in the spring).

Please refer to our employer policies and procedures for all off-campus employment and internship opportunities. All job opportunities, internships not required as a part of a degree program, and employer recruitment activities must be submitted to the Office of Career Services for review and approval prior to being advertised to students and alumni, in accordance with university policies and procedures.
