Hybrid Nursing Program

The Hybrid Nursing Program combines online learning with in-person instruction. Online components may include videos, discussions, quizzes, exams, remediation activities, and other course requirements. In-person learning includes class meetings, skills labs, simulation, clinical experiences, and standardized exams.

Faculty are accessible to students through online platforms such as video conferencing, phone, or scheduled office appointments. In addition, faculty are present and available during on-campus classes, labs, simulation activities, and most clinical experiences.

Blended Cohorts

Blended cohorts are similar to the hybrid format but include a greater percentage of in-person, faculty-led instruction and a smaller portion of online coursework. For example, discussions that may occur on a discussion board or in a virtual environment in a hybrid cohort take place live during scheduled class sessions in a blended cohort.

Faculty availability in blended cohorts mirrors that of the hybrid format, with the added benefit of increased face-to-face access during class meetings.

Online Cohorts

The Online Nursing Program consists primarily of online learning activities, including videos, discussions, quizzes, exams, remediation, and standardized exams. Clinical experiences are completed in person at a healthcare facility near the student’s location and are scheduled individually with assigned RN preceptors.

Online students are required to come to campus one to two times during the program for orientation and skills check-offs and completion of the microbiology lab if needed.

The online program is offered exclusively to LPN to RN cohorts.
