Program Specific Application Eligibility Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN) program applicants must complete BMS 110 – Fundamentals of Biomedical Science by the program start with a 'C' grade or better unless they have previously completed an equivalent BMS 110 course or human anatomy/physiology 1 at another institution with a 'C' grade or higher. Students who have completed BMS 110 prior to application deadline will be ranked over those who are in progress of taking it.
Ranking Score Computation - Score Points and Eligibility Benchmarks
Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average GPA & Ranking Score Point Structure
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.5 based on a minimum of 12 college credit hours in order for their nursing program application to be eligible for consideration. Eligible applicants will receive 10, 15 or 20 points depending on where their GPA falls into a set of 3 point ranges:

Nursing Support Course Points
Applicants will receive points for having completed BMS 267 Human Anatomy by the program application deadline depending on their grade:

Applicants will recieve point for having completed BMS 268 Human Physiology by the preogram application deadline depending on their grade:

Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam
Applicants must take the Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam by the appropriate program application deadline.
- A minimum overall composite score of 55 must be achieved.
- A minimum Reading score of 64 must be achieved.
- Points will be awarded based on the applicant’s Kaplan Exam composite score:

The Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam may be taken two times per application cycle. To reserve a spot for the exam, follow the instructions in the Kaplan Exam Information Packet. Official study guides for the Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam are available at school & public libraries to check out and for purchase online.
Nursing School Entrance Exam scores are valid for 5 years.
ATI TEAS Entrance Exam
Starting November 1st, 2024, the MSU West Plains Nursing Department will be using the ATI TEAS as the entrance exam for its nursing program. A minimum of 58.7% is required for eligibility in the program. Applicants will earn rank score points according to the table below.
